What We Do

Columbine holds regular monthly meetings and programs with presentations during our “meeting season” from September through May. Other social and educational activities are scheduled throughout the season to benefit members. Read down this page to learn more about what our members do. Remember, visitors are always welcome at Columbine functions!

Executive Board Meetings

CGHS Board of Directors meetings are held monthly, except in June, July and December. These meetings, which are open to membership, take place at 9:00 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month via Zoom.

Program Meetings

Our program meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month except in June, July and August.  Meetings are scheduled for 1:00-3:00 p.m. and start with a brief business portion followed by a speaker with time for socializing and refreshments.

Education Programs

Two-hour workshops are scheduled for special classes or presentations.  These educational workshops are frequently scheduled on the third Tuesday of the month but also take place at other times.  Locations and times can vary, but will be announced in the newsletter, on the website and blast emails.

Special Interest Groups

We are now offering three different special interest research groups to help our members further their researches. Take a look at these groups.

Columbine Writers’ Group

Columbine members who are interested in writing and sharing their family stories meet monthly during the society’s regular season. This is a casual, low-key, friendly environment, which allows Columbine writers to share, inspire, and improve their craft.

Pot Luck Socials

Two social events are a tradition on the CGHS calendar.  The spring pot luck luncheon takes place on the second Tuesday in May before the start of the Society’s summer break.  In December, the Society holds a holiday pot luck with shared holiday dishes served prior to an entertaining program.
