Categories
This presentation allows for selection of the categories of the records in the database.
If there is no data table showing categories, that category does not have publications in
the current database.
Category Descriptions (that
are not self explanatory)
Business: Used to
reference a publication that was a business directory, a list of
businesses or business were mentioned in the publication.
Documentation: Used when a publication provided information on
proper or correct citing of source and reference materials.
Events: Used to reference events in history.
Genealogy Compiled: Used when the book included several
generations of information or extended family history.
Genealogy (other than compiled): Used when the publication
included names, but not generation information.
Life: Used when the subject of the publication was related to
culture, traditions, customs, daily activities, etc.
Organizations: Used when references were made to libraries,
societies, offices, archives, research centers, etc.
Help (Records): Used when the book provided information on where
to find genealogical records and source materials.
Help (Research): Used when the publication provided information
on where to research or listed suggested research methods.
Sources: Used to reference genealogy records and information
related to the records.
