Celebrating 35th Anniv

What We Do:

Columbine holds regular monthly meetings and workshops during our 'meeting season'  from September through May. Each season a number of other social and educational activities are scheduled to benefit our members.  Read down this page to learn more about what our members do. And remember, visitors are always welcome at all Columbine functions!

Regular Meetings and Workshops
Our Business and Workshop meetings are held monthly except in June, July, August, and December. Business meetings are held on the second Tuesdays. Workshops are held on the third Tuesdays. Both Business meetings and Workshops are scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Executive Board Meetings
The Board of Directors meetings of the Society are held monthly except in June, July, and December. These meetings are open to the membership and take place at 9:30 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month.

Early Bird Workshops
Occasionally additional workshops are scheduled for special presentations or training purposes. When scheduled, these workshops are generally held on the morning of the third Tuesday. There is no regular schedule so the Newsletter or WebSite should be consulted.

Back: Sandi Klein - President, Jane Monroe and Paula Davis.

Community Outreach
Columbine staffs a genealogy booth at the annual Highlands Ranch Family History Fair where they share genealogy information. Our members also participate in various other community functions to help increase public genealogy awareness.

Seminars
Usually once a year Columbine will sponsor a seminar in which well known outside speakers will be invited. These will be fundraisers that are open to the public. There is no regular schedule so the Newsletter or WebSite should be consulted.

Genealogy Classes
At least once each year Columbine schedules a series of classes on either basic or advanced genealogy. Classes in a variety of genealogical subjects are taught and tours scheduled to various local research facilities. Look to the Newsletter or WebSite for scheduled classes.

December Social
Each December the Society holds a social where pot luck holiday dishes are served and an entertaining program is scheduled. The program is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. but food is usually served earlier...

Annual Used Book Sale and Salad Luncheon
The May Workshop generally has a sale of books, magazines and other genealogical or historical items that are donated. This activity amounts to a fundraiser for monies to be added to the acquisition program for library books. For these events, a salad luncheon is served starting at about 11:00 a.m. A short program follows at 1:00 p.m.

Bemis Research Night
Once or twice each year Columbine joins with Bemis Public Library to hold a research night exclusively for members while the library is closed to the public. Watch the Newsletter and WebSite for scheduled Bemis events.

All these activities give Columbine members lots of opportunities to chat and share their most recent finds. Our members enjoy expanding their genealogy skills each year while sharing so many rewarding friendships.
